Royal Aeronautical Society

LOUGHBOROUGH BRANCH

The Society performs three primary roles: to support and maintain the highest standards for professionalism in all aerospace disciplines; to provide a unique source of specialist information and a central forum for the exchange of ideas; and to exert influence in the interests of aerospace in both public and industrial arenas.

Membership is drawn from a diverse range of organisations and disciplines. As well as designers, pilots and engineers, Society members include cabin crew, ground crew, air traffic controllers, manufacturing staff, educators, doctors, lawyers, planners, marketers, journalists and many, many others.  Various grades of membership cater for everyone, from the keen enthusiast to the captains of industry.

The Society’s headquarters are in London where many functions and lectures are held.  Local branches enable members beyond easy reach of the capital to enjoy many of the benefits of metropolitan members and, for many members, are the main points of personal contact with the society.  Like most of the others, the Loughborough Branch organises a programme of evening lectures during the autumn and spring and, from time to time, visits to other venues of aeronautical interest.  Non-members are invited to become registerd Branch Members or simply come along as visitors.  All are welcome and we hope to see you at one of our lectures soon.
